    Athletics

Students enjoy participating in a variety of athletic activities at Keheewin School through regular gym classes, daily fitness challenges and many indoor and outdoor activities.

Over the past two years, thanks to the support of Parent Council, students have had the opportunity to enjoy a week long gymnastics residency hosted by Dani Altiere Inc.

Intramurals held at Keheewin, provide students with an opportunity to stay active and engaged while having fun. They help to promote physical fitness, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and healthy competition. Intramurals also provide a safe and positive environment for students to engage in social interaction with their peers.

    School Philosophy

Every child is a unique individual and must be treated with respect. The purpose of education is to produce citizens who strive for personal and academic excellence and who contribute to the well-being and growth of their peers and the community.  Students will be able to problem solve, locate and utilize information, appreciate the arts and physical health and develop positive character values.

Good teaching is expected and teachers are encouraged to continually grow.  They know the curriculum, utilize multiple teaching strategies and resources, listen to and question students, allow individual and group work, integrate technology and hands-on activities and have good relationships with other students, parents and colleagues.  As a professional learning community, teachers collaborate with other professionals within and outside the school to improve their practice.  We strive to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.

We expect and encourage the role and responsibility of parents as partners in their child’s education. We work together to support students as they learn and grow.

Welcome

For the 2024 - 2025 school year, with the exception of Kindergarten, Keheewin School is full in planned classes in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students in Grades 1 to 6 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

Welcome to Keheewin School. Staff focus on ensuring all students are successful while understanding each person is unique. Students have the opportunity to build, create, and share their learning in a variety of ways utilizing modern technologies. In addition to classroom spaces, Keheewin School’s Learning Commons provides many ways for students to access up to date information and activities including Makerspace and robust tools to enhance learning.
